In This Moment with Maria

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Visit the official site here.

Breast Cancer will be detected in one of eight women in the US each year.
It is the second leading cause of cancer death among women each year.
On average every 2 minutes a woman will be diagnosed with breast cancer and every 13 minutes one person will die from breast cancer.
There are currently 33 million breast cancer survivors in the USA.

It's important to support the research for cancer.  Breast Cancer is often associated with the color pink so I will be showing off some pink Cutch cards.

In addition, you can expect to see some boobs with each post.  Who doesn't love boobs?

So let's start with what we're hoping to save!

Maria Brink is the lead singer of the heavy metal band, In This Moment.

Many people are unfamilar with the band as it is a radically different sound than what mainstream audiences listen to.

I personally really like the band and their unique sound.  Maria can go from very melodic singing to deep screams that the genre has become known for.

It may not be your cup of tea, but check out some of their music videos on YouTube if you may be slightly interested in hearing one of the bands I listen to.

Adrenalize is one of my favorites by them.

Were it not for a female fronted singer, In This Moment may not have gained the popularity they had.

Maria's use of her pipes is a game changer.

Speaking of game changers, Andrew McCutchen proposed to his then girlfriend Maria Hansloven on the Ellen show after winning his 2013 National League MVP award.

It is clear that he loves his wife more than anything else by getting her name tattooed on his arm as seen on this 2018 Topps Heritage High Number card.

For his brief time in San Francisco I am glad I was able to secure this awesome magenta back with a print run of only 10 copies.
For only playing 3/4 of a season in San Francisco I was able to score some really awesome cards of the former MVP.  This magenta back pairs nicely with the Pirates version I showed off when spotlighting Jennifer Aniston.

  1. Listened to their song "Prayers". It's pretty good. I'll have to check out more of their stuff when I have some free time.
