Happy Mother's Day
It's Mother's Day. Were baseball being played today there would be a lot of players donning pink in their uniforms.
I have shown off a lot of these pink cards in the past as part of my Save Second Base events I do each year. I just grabbed a sampling of cards from 2016-2017 to show off because I was looking for this card in that binder.
This is a 2017 Topps 30th anniversary, 1987 parallel.
1987 was the first set I remember completing as a kid. My parents would buy me a pack everytime we went to a supermarket.
My mom and dad would help me organize the cards by team and I would put them into pages jamming as many of the same card into the same pocket as I could fit.
Even though there was maybe 5 or 6 Gary Carter cards stuffed into a single pocket of the page, the backs were left visible. I learned how to read from baseball cards and they helped me with math. I remember for show and tell I would bring in some of my favorite cards. My mom helped me put together a poster board and we glued my favorite players onto it.
A lot of Dwight Goodens, Kent Tekulve, and Mike Greenwells were wasted in the process of that.

Donnie Baseball is connected to the Nova Corps
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month. Visit the official site here.
Breast Cancer will be detected in one of eight women in the US each year.
It is the second leading cause of cancer death among women each year.
On average every 2 minutes a woman will be diagnosed with breast cancer and every 13 minutes one person will die from breast cancer.
There are currently 33 million breast cancer survivors in the USA.
It's important to support the research for cancer. Breast Cancer is often associated with the color pink so I will be showing off some pink Cutch cards.
In addition, you can expect to see some boobs with each post. Who doesn't love boobs?
So let's start with what we're hoping to save!
Mikaela Hoover
I first noticed Ms. Hoover in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
She served as the Assistant to Nova Prime.
She also appeared in 2 Broke Girls as the character Jessica.
She was a scene stealer.
Hoover may be relatively new to the silver screen for being a 34 year old, but the 1984 born actress appears to be setting herself up for more success in the future.
For baseball card collectors, the year 1984 was significant because there was a hot young rookie playing 1st Base for the New York Yankees that was labeled as a future Hall of Famer after only one season.
Unfortunately for Donnie Baseball, his prime years were cut short with many injuries that forced him to retire years before expected.
Baseball fans were reminded of that classic 1984 Donruss design this year when Panini issued retro designed cards in the Donruss set. In addition to many other parallels there was a pink ribbon Mother's Day version numbered to only 25 copies.
The backs look exactly like the 1984 backs.
WHO WILL WIN THE WORLD SERIES?
Will the National League continue their even year magic and have the Dodgers claim the top prize?

Or will the Red Sox prove that it's silly to be superstitious and be the first American League team to win the World Series since.....the 2004 Red Sox?

One of the most popular songs my senior year in high school was Destiny's Child: Say My Name. While all the vocalists went on to have successful careers, Beyonce stole the show.

I watch a lot of comic book inspired movies and tv shows. I am definitely a bigger fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe over what DC has rushed to put on the silver screen. Suicide Squad, Justice League, Batman v Superman were all disappointments. The one film that DC got right was Wonder Woman.
While superhot Gal Gadot gets all the attention, there was another hottie in the film that no one is really talking about.
The reason why?
Well, when Elena Anaya isn't spending hours in makeup to turn into the terrible looking Doctor Poison (as she appears in the film), she is actually insanely hot.
That should support my belief, but if you want some more proof...
Now, why do I bring up the star that brought us the insane Doctor Poison?
Well, because before Cutch got traded from the Pirates to the Giants only "Big Poison" Paul Waner lead Cutch in the most seasons by a Pirates player with 150 games, 150 hits, 25 doubles. Cutch notched his 6th season while Waner leads Pittsburgh annuals with 7.
It seems the actress isn't the only one with a nickname.
On another note, Elena played the red haired vampire in the Van Hellsing series.
