Stick around

On July 30th, just a few days away, Arnold Schwarzenegger will be 75 years old.

My plan is to count down using some of Arnold's famous and corny punny lines from all his movies.  If there's a quote you'd like to see, leave it below and I will try to find a corresponding card or item in my Cutch collection to spotlight.

Predator is in my mind, the ultimate man movie. It just screams I am rough and rugged and will battle to the death.  And not to be biased because it's one of my top 10 movies all time, but it's my favorite Arnold film so I'm using it to kick off this event.

Today's quote to kick off Arnie week is

Stick Around

My card of choice is the 2012 Topps Archives 1977 Cloth Sticker.
I also have 3 of the 1/1 printing plates for this card.

What other quotes would you like to see represented?

Into The Corn!!!

When I was younger my best friend's favorite baseball team was the Chicago White Sox.  The ChiSox were a team I liked a lot also due to the Big Hurt, Robin Ventura, and Jack McDowell.

I chose to root for the other black uniformed baseball team and the rest is kind of history.

The Pirates have stunk for nearly 3 decades.
The White Sox have basically stunk during that time also besides a few playoff appearances and of course their 2005 World Series.

The Field of Dreams Game just ended with an epic walkoff by Tim Anderson.
Man was that awesome!!!

The first homerun hit in an MLB game in the state of Iowa was by Jose Abreu.
I will be rooting for the White Sox for the American League.  What a fun group of guys they have there.

I don't have many White Sox cards in my collection that feature Cutch, but I do have a 2020 Topps Sticker with Cutch on the front and the walk off hero, Tim Anderson on the back.

It's always fun to show off the images of a card via a mirror to show the fronts and back.
I also have a card with a bunch of patches including one of Jose Abreu.  It also has a nice patch of the other 9th inning (could have been) hero, Giancarlo Stanton.
I have a feeling I will be showing off the above card again in the near future when Miggy hits career HR #500.

Did you watch the Field of Dreams game?

Mets Make A Statement

Wow!

Francisco Lindor and Cookie Carrasco just got traded to the Mets.  With a rotation of Degrom, Syndergaard, Carrasco, and Stroman and an improving offense built around Pete Alonso, the Mets are looking to win the NL East next year.

I have a sticker of Andrew McCutchen with The Polar Bear Pete Alonso on the front.

The Mets are eyeing up being above just a  competitive team now.

What's your thoughts on the trade?

Sticking to a new concept

I have been showing off Andrew McCutchen cards on this blog for over 3 years and have been blogging about Cutch collectibles for 9 years if You go back to my old Pirates Treasure Room.

While it is fun to discuss all my cards of Cutch, I also really like collecting items that aren't found in a baseball card pack.

I am hoping to show off some of my bobble heads, autograph photos, newspaper and magazine articles, toys, game used items, and so much more.

To kick things off here is a limited edition sticker made by Daniel Jacob Horine who I met on Twitter @Danny_Champion
Only 50 copies of this sticker were produced and Danny was kind enough to send me this one for my collection.  It features the classic image of Cutch from Retro Night. The gold chain, double cups, sunglasses all make this sticker a unique item for the collection.

What are some items you want to see me show off first?

Today's Movie: The Lost Miller Time Catch (rated PG13)

Last week, I received a PWE from AJ @ The Lost Collector.  Coincidently I sent him a package the same day just to say "hey".

AJ hit me up with a sampling of 3 of my favorite players

Reggie Miller is my favorite basketball player ever.  The way he faced off against super teams like the Bulls and Knicks almost single handily is a testament to the absolute scoring machine that he was.
This 1999-2000 Upper Deck Encore Electric Currents insert is my favorite card of the half dozen Miller cards he sent.

Paul George is another of my favorite basketball players.  Were it not for the Miami Heat super squad, I think the Pacers could have won a title this past decade.
PG13 is a two way player.  He is one of the best defensive forwards in the game and makes some of the most electrifying dunks I've seen since the days of Vince Carter.
That is such a cool shot!!!

AJ also included this sticker of Cutch getting ready to make a sliding catch.
Thanks for the thoughtful PWE AJ.  You should have received the random act of kindness I sent you and I hope you enjoy it.

They already ate the cake?

In case you may have missed it...

The Dodgers and Giants got into a brawl Tuesday night.

Andrew McCutchen took to instagram Wednesday to describe it.
You can read the article and hear his instagram play by play of the whole thing here.  It's well worth the click to hear Cutch get animated about the event and say things like:

I looked around and it was like a tornado, but it was just the bullpen running in.

I decided to join them and start running.

I thought about doing a karate pose...but I didn't.

Being in the outfield during a brawl is like a kid showing up to a birthday party late.  It's like you're coming in all excited, and they went and already ate all the cake.

Cutch is a funny dude.  I miss his personality in the clubhouse for the pregame and postgame interviews and features.

The only new card to the collection of this bunch is the Big League Caricature.  I got it for $1. The others were all scanned as part of a future post I am working on and they helped tell the story of what Cutch was talking about on instagram.
