Is it really only 14?

With more states and cities becoming concerned over the Coronavirus scare, it remains questionable if Opening Day will actually start on March 26th as currently scheduled.

I chose this 2014 Breaking Out insert to represent today's countdown.
It is number 14 in a 20 card set found in Topps Opening Day.

With more cases appearing daily and with other sports entertainment already deciding to suspend the rest of their season (NBA) or play in front of empty stadiums (NCAA March Madness Tournament, select NHL teams) how do you think MLB should handle their Opening Day plans?

  1. As much as it'll suck, MLB needs to do what's in the best interest of its fans. If that means delaying the start of the season, so be it.

    3. And there you have it! These next few weeks are going to be really weird without sports...

  2. I had a feeling that would happen. I guess it doesn't matter if the venues are open-air or not; large gatherings are susceptible. Hopefully this dies down in the interim. Can't argue with the preventative measures being taken, but it does suck to have all pro sports leagues shut down.

  3. So with the season being delayed... are you switching to cards with No Numbers?

  4. Wow. So much has happened in such a short window of time. But it's a nice wake-up call. It's better to be safe than sorry.
