Postseason Bound?

There is only about two weeks left in the MLB regular season.  It seems so long ago that the Pirates starting rotation of Chris Archer, Jameson Taillon, Jordan Lyles, Joe Musgrove, and Trevor Williams were leading the best rotation in baseball for the first two weeks of the season with nearly every pitcher throwing up zeroes in their first starts of the season.

It also seems like forever since Andrew McCutchen hit a Home Run in his first at bat as a Phillie against the Braves.  The Phillies then went down to Washington and Phillies fans began chanting "We Got Harper" as the Phillies won another series against the Twins following the Nationals series.  The Phillies were in first place when Cutch went down.

Both Pennsylvania teams looked like early postseason favorites in the first three weeks of the season.

But after 162 games, things tend to even out and fix themselves.  The Dodgers and Braves have come away with postseason berths and over the next few weeks (possibly days) more teams will clinch the Post Season.
Above are a pair of 2015 Topps Museum Patch cards I have of Cutch.  The patches were worn on their 2014 Wild Card Game jerseys.  That was the year that Madison Bumgarner went to another level of shitting opponents down and it started in the complete game shutout of the 2014 Wild Card Game.

Who do you think will win the two wild card spots for each league?  I am leaning towards the Nationals hosting the Cubs and the Rays hosting the Indians.

This prediction means the Mets, Phillies, Brewers all miss the playoffs as do the Oakland A's.

  1. I'm not going to make any formal predictions, because I don't want to jinx anything. That being said... I sure hope you're wrong about Oakland.
