When you super collect a player, you learn everything there is to know about different parallels and what to expect from them.
Look at the 3 cards below. At a quick glance they appear to be the same card, right?
Panini is known for their Statline parallels where they use numbers from a player's career, season, and single game stats and make serially numbered parallels to chase.
Well, let's take a look closer at each card starting with the card on the left.
The marking on the left mentions that Cutch had 159 hits in 2017.
That means that the card should be serially numbered XXX/159.
Everything checks out.
Now let's move to the card in the middle.
The identification on left of card talks about Cutch collecting 8 RBI in a single game.
This parallel is what is known as a Game Day Statline parallel. It is numbered to only 8 copies.
Now this is where things get weird when we look at the card on the right.
The card has the game day statline of 8 RBI on the left.
But the card numbering is numbered 159 copies NOT 8
This is a case of mistaken identity and bad serial numbers. The card likely was intended to be numbered to only copies(game day stat) but was instead numbered to copies (season stat)
So that concludes our detective work for today. Keep your eyes open on serially numbered cards, you may find something that's not quite right.

This Day in Cutchstory: Where we're going we don't need roads
So yesterday was May 17th and I completely forgot to highlight one of those most important events in Cutchstory that can be found on cardboard.
Come with me BACK TO this post where I said in THE FUTURE, I would highlight this card.
Above is a 2018 Donruss 1984 Retro Game Day Stat Line card. The game day stat lines are incredibly rare as they feature an extremely limited number produced based on a stat line for that game. In this case, only 2 were produced to highlight Andrew McCutchen's 2 Stolen Bases that day.
I wrote about this great game by Cutch exactly a year ago which you can see here.
The significance of the 1984 design? Back to The Future was being filmed that year for a 1985 release date.
So now that we have traveled to the past and the future, hows the Delorean Doc?
From the back of the card I posted on May 7th 2018 referencing the events of May 17th 2017.

PWE from the Lost Collector
AJ from the Lost Collector sent me an email with a picture of a 2017 retro McCutchen base card, wondering if I already had it. I told him that I had a few of the parallels, but not the base.
A few days later I received this along with a 2017 Donruss Starling Marte.
This card goes nicely with my other parallels
From left to right
Season Statline (HRs)/24, Aqueous Test Back /49,Gold Press Proof /99
Silver border/199, Career Statline(OBP) /381, Pink Back
Thank you so much for contributing to the Cutch PC, AJ. I have several packages going out this week and yours is one of them.
