Luke 2:11
Merry Christmas Everyone!!!
Don't forget to remember why we celebrate this day.

To celebrate our saviour's birth.

11th Day of Christmas: Generational Traditions

When I think about Christmas I think about all the different kinds of traditions that families have and how they pass them down from generation to generation.

When I was a teenager my family began to seperate and thus the traditions became less meaningful.  It's a shame because I really miss getting together with about 40 or so of my relatives.

10th Day of Christmas: John 3:16

It seems appropriate to use this verse this Sunday with Christmas Eve being tomorrow.

John 3:16
For God So loved this world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Here is another autograph of Cutch from a 2018 serially numbered 12/25.
I predicted that I would have a bunch of new autograph parallels to chase and it was thrilling.
Cutch has gotten so many new autographs to chase this year in Topps products.

Where were all these cards when Cutch was a Pirate?

9th Day of Christmas: Remember the Titans

Football is on today which is exciting leading into the final weekend before Christmas.

Unfortunately one of the games is the Titans and Redskins.

Borefest!!!

Unless of course if you're a Steelers fan and you need the Titans to be eliminated from the playoff picture.

The division rivals Ravens are playing tonight too and I wish them nothing but the best....at losing.

It is tough to see on this Tribute Titans jersey relic, but this is in fact the 12/25 emerald parallel

8th Day of Christmas: Second Base and Phillies

I wanted to show off Denise Milani during this year's SaveSecondBase event.

With Christmas approaching (12/25) and having a pink card (which I actually already showed off here), I thought it was appropriate to connect her to this pink card.  After all she is wearing pink in the picture.

This 2014 Topps pink card features the previous year's NL MVP.  It is one of my All-time favorite images of Cutch on cardboard.
The back shows off some pretty cool stats about his NL MVP season and oddly enough 2 random stats against his now current team.  Was this a prophesy that Topps saw coming way back in 2014?  Did Topps know that one day Cutch would have his stats weighted heavily in Philadelphia?  Or was this just some random error in creating the card back?

Much like the secret surrounding how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie (lolli)Pop, the world may never know.

7th Day of Christmas: Stadium Club Foil (again!)

Yesterday I showed a Stadium Club rainbow Foil numbered 12/25.  Today I am going to do the same thing.

The Rainbow Foil parallel pops in hand.

6th Day of Christmas: All Access

Field Acess was an insert set in the 2014 Stadium Club offering that gave collectors several parallels to chase.
The front of the cards resemble a ticket stub.
The back give some insight to the player and some "behind the curtain" access to stats not found on the back of most baseball cards.  For instance we learn about Cutch's durability and approaches versus southpaws.

Because I work in the Philly market, I can listen to Philly sports radio on my way home until I approach the New York market border and the signal starts to fade.

While I was driving home yesterday, 94.1 had Cutch join the crew and he discussed his reasons for coming to Philly, his relationship with Gabe Kappler thus far, his one year old son, his high school football career, and of course a little bit of baseball.

Prior to leaving he was asked by the marketing department about his onelce famous dreads.

He joked around that the main reason he,chopped them was because he,had just gotten married and wanted to start a family.  He jokingly said when you get older and married you lose your hair and that he wanted to be the one who chose when he loses it.  He also said that he wanted to make sure that as he begins to have a family that his kid doesn't all of a sudden have to be like "who's this dude" once he chops the hair eventually.

He then went on to reference that it took him 9 years to get them to the length they were prior to being cut and that he does have some smaller dreads going now.

We all know that Cutch is a big Black Panther fan and said he is trying to make his hair look like Kilmonger
Looks like it was off to a good start when in San Francisco.

At the press release yesterday you can see that Cutch's hair is going full Kilmonger style.
Manager Gabe Kappler chose to give his number 22 so that Cutch can wear it again.

5th Day of Christmas: Now That's a Diamond King!

Yesterday I showed a black Optic Diamond King numbered 12/25.  It was nice and all, but when I think of Diamond Kings I think of paintings.
Now that's a Diamond King.

Simple elegant design on the front and back.

4th Day of Christmas: black is back

Black chrome cards for Pirates players always look awesome even without logos.
Black Optic is no exception.

Numbered To only 25 copies on the back
Christmas Eve is a week away.  It's hard to believe the year has gone by that quickly.

3rd Day of Christmas: Orange You Glad, it's another autograph?

So I have shown the red numbered to 5 and the superfractor numbered to 1.

Today I will show off the orange numbered to 25.  It's not just any 25 though, it's 12/25.

2nd Day of Christmas: Pink!!!

Continuing the theme started yesterday is a card that has been shown twice on the blog already.

This might give you a hint as to what kind of card you will see.
Why, yes...
It's a pink Christmas card.
Notice that 12/25?  It's like the Where's Waldo game.

Speaking of Waldo, anyone else ever think he was always in the Christmas spirit?

Christmas time is wonderful, isn't it?

1st Day of Christmas: 2011 Tier 1 Auto

2 posts, 1 day?
Why not?

My family always managed to screw up what I thought was reality.  ALWAYS!

It wasn't until this year that I discovered the 12 days of Christmas began on Christmas day.

My family managed to convince me it started 12 days before Christmas.

History proves it's not.

So in the tradition of my family's backwards ways of doing things I will be showing off an Andrew McCutchen card numbered 12/25 beginning today through Christmas.

Here we have a 2011 Topps Tier 1 On The Rise on card autograph gold parallel.

The On The Rise autographs featured many of the young players in 2011 that were on the verge of breakout seasons and careers.  Of course there were a few duds in there too.  The checklist has names ranging from Madison Bumgarner, Brandon Crawford, Mike Giancarlo Stanton, Zach Britton, Max Scherzer, Freddie Freeman, Chris Sale, Craig Kimbrel, and Anthony Rizzo.  It also has names like Alexi Ogando, David Cooper, and Tyler Colvin.
They were right in that Cutch holds the Pirates record for most consecutive 20-20 seasons.  He also has hit 20 or more Homeruns since 2010.  No other active player can claim that same mark.  It mentions his back to back seasons of .286 and Cutch's current blcareer batting average after 10 years in the bigs is .287.

Cutch has displayed a model level of consistency since breaking into the big leagues and I think he may return to an All-Star level this year.

Cubs Fan Helps Send a Christmas Card

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Visit the official site here.

Breast Cancer will be detected in one of eight women in the US each year.

It is the second leading cause of cancer death among women each year.

On average every 2 minutes a woman will be diagnosed with breast cancer and every 13 minutes one person will die from breast cancer.

There are currently 33 million breast cancer survivors in the USA.

It's important to support the research for cancer.

Breast Cancer is often associated with the color pink so I will be showing off some pink Cutch cards.

In addition, you can expect to see some boobs with each post.  Who doesn't love boobs?

So let's start with what we're hoping to save!

Similar to last year I will be doing a Paint the blog Pink, Breast Cancer Awareness segment.  Kate Upton showed off the full grown version of today's card last year.  I thought I could use another Sports Illustrated swimsuit model to show off the mini version this year.

Marissa Miller is a swimsuit model who has been ranked as high as number 1 on Maxim's Hot 100 list.

Marissa is no stranger to sports as she has participated in several celebrity all star games

in addition to throwing out a few first pitches

for the Giants (against Dodgers)

and Cubs
She also appeared in a super sexy commercial with....Ryan Braun?

With the Brewers set to face the Cubbies in a 1 game playoff for the division, I thought I should show what a super awesome Cubs fan sent me this year.

During the summer I got the mini version of the 2014 Topps Pink numbered 12/25.  It came from a Cubs fan named Steve I talked to on Beckett Marketplace.
Thanks Steve.  I am so happy I was able to cross this need off the list.
This 2014 Topps card is my favorite image of Cutch that Topps has ever used.
It's also a Christmas card of sorts.

Which teams playing today will get an early Christmas gift and claim the divisions?  Today will be a fun day for baseball fans.

Don't forget to leave comments who you would like to see appear in future segments.

Christmas In July

It's hard to believe the year is half over already.

As we head towards the second half of this year, I have begun planning some "events" that I want to do this year.

Let's begin with what the main BIG event will be this year...because of the amount of interaction I got last year and when I previously did it on PiratesTreasureRoom, I will be doing my annual Save The Boobies October Breast Cancer Awareness event. This event will hopefully take place during the entire month of October again.  It will be returning with more Cutch pink cards to showoff, recap last year's cards in one post, and do some Cutch cameo pink cards.  I have been planning some of these posts since last year.

I am planning on attending the AA Minor League All Star Game in Trenton on July 12th and will showcase only minor league cards of Cutch during that week while looking at how his stats in the minors rank with current prospects ascending to the show.

Following the minor league All Star Game I will switch gears and look at Cutch's 5 year stretch of consecutive All Star Games from 2011 to 2015.  I will also look at the two years he got the "snubbed" treatment in 2010 and 2017 and compare them to other ASG representives.

After October I will show off cards I have of Cutch that pair him with top free agents like Machado, Harper, Donaldson, etc.  I will also run a contest for you to predict the team and years Cutch signs with this year.

December will feature a 12 days of Christmas series as I countdown to Christmas using only cards marked 12/25.  I know Gavin should be a big fan of this.

After Christmas I will be in full on review mode for the year.  I will be reviewing my favorite sets, hits, Cutch's performance, and any cards I picked up this year from previous year's releases.

If there is any content you would like me to show off hit me up.  I have over 2,300 cards to choose from so I am sure I can come up with something.

Because New Jersey is going to be over 100 degrees today and I would much rather it be cooler fall like temperatures, I am going to show a Christmas card...In July.

This is what you can expect to see for the 12 Days of Christmas segment, a nice card numbered 12/25.

I thought I would show off this 2014 Stadium Club Field Access Rainbow Foil first since the 2018 Stadium Club just released this week.
I have often complained about Topps not using the best photos of Cutch for Stadium Club.  This entry is actually a unique look into the dugout as Cutch is heading to the field.
The look of these cards was meant to resemble a bar code to grant you "field access".  This particular one is glistening with the rainbow foil that makes this rare card fall once in a case.

The dog days of July, August, and September are upon us. Give me some inspiration what to write about.

The Finest Generations (Christmas Edition)

Most of the family on my mom's side of the family lived in various parts of the United States while I was growing up.  I had aunts and uncles in Texas, California, Kentucky, and Florida.  One thing I always remember was getting a phone call on the 11th hour every Christmas Eve from my aunt in California with her asking "Is it Christmas yet?"

I don't know if her kids will continue that trend when speaking to any of our east coast family or not (likely not), but it's one of those memories I've carried for an entire generation.

I bring this up because my latest Cutch addition is a Christmas card (12/25) of 2015 Finest Generations.   These rare refractors are super tough to get despite just being regular refractors.

They're so rare in fact that I already had the base, Superfractor, and red highlighted on this blog.  This was the missing link to the rainbow family.  Yup, only 4 cards to chase on this insert set rainbow.  It feels nice to check this one off.

To refresh your memory, here's the red and super

Today my brother and I will be attending a sports show in Virginia.  It's the first time I will have seen him since Christmas time.  Should be fun times.

A Christmas message and a Christmas card

I recently purchased a Topps Mini Orange from eBay and it arrived in a bubble mailer.

This wasn't any average bubble mailer though.  On the back it had Acts 2:38 written.

This biblical verse is important to remember why we celebrate the holiday.

Upon review of the actual card I noticed it was a Christmas card.

Sorry Gavin, this one is staying with me.

Merry Christmas to all of you.
