This Day In Cutchstory: 1st HomeRun

Topps Tribute has lost a lot of it's luster as a super high end set over the years in part because more and better high end sets have been released over the years.

2015 Topps Tribute had some issues upon initial release due to lots of autographs bubbling and smearing.  It even lead to a recall of the merchandise.

With all that being said there were some pretty cool relics and the design for 2015 in general was very nice looking.

When I saw that Topps was releasing a set of cards using baseballs from games with milestone moments, I knew I wanted to snag of the very limited cards produced honoring Cutch's 1st career MLB homerun.

The MLB Authentication shows HZ274399

Which shows that it was a swatch removed from ball LH224482

10 years ago today Cutch hit his first career homer off Twins ace Francisco Liriano.

Meet Your New Manager

It's been a few days since news broke that Cutch is heading West.  I've been going through my cards remembering all the moments the former MVP gave us Pirates fans.

One card I found was this 2015 All-star game card of Cutch in the batting cage talking to Bruce Bochy.

Initial projections has Cutch batting in the leadoff spot for the Giants.  He hasn't batted there since 2009 in an official game.  He did however bat leadoff for the 2015 All-Star game which included Cutch's 1st All-star game homerun.

Cutch will once again return to right field and the team is still searching for a defensive minded centerfielder.  Hunter Pence will move to left field.

This Day In Cutchstory: 1st MLB HR

I wonder if Andrew took a few jabs at Francisco Liriano when he signed with the Pirates as a Free Agent during the winter of 2012.

If I was him I probably would have said something about "Welcome to Pittsburgh.  Thanks for letting me get my 1st Homerun off you"

Andrew is a bigger and better person than me so I doubt that happened.

Anyway today is the 8th anniversary of Cutch's 1st HR.

I am still in search of an actual ticket for that game, but I have these for now.

And 3 parallels
