A New Cutch22 and complaint about technology

I haven't posted in a week and am trying to figure out to work around this "upgraded" version of blogger on my phone.

I am not a fan.

I have no clue how to quickly access drafts using tags or how to add tags to my posts as I am drafting them.  This frustrates me as I have hundreds (Yes you read that correctly) of rough drafts ready to go when an event may pop up.

This technology is not helping me show off my collection of Cutch.

This 2019 Topps Tek was purchased last November and I have had it saved for awhile as a draft, but I have no idea where it is on the new blogger loading screen.
I rescanned it to show this purple parallel numbered 22/99

A Private Issue and a Private Signing

It's been awhile since I showed off a Cutch 22 card.  Today's card that is jersey serial numbered is a 2019 Topps Gallery Wal-Mart exclusive Private Issue parallel.
The Private Issue has a stamp on the bottom right of the card, but I don't see any additional details that seperate it from the base card.
The Private Issue parallels are numbered to only 250 copies. This particular copy is serially numbered 22/250, thus making it a Cutch22 addition.

Speaking of Private Issues, I received my autograph Nike jersey from a private signing with Andrew McCutchen.

Many thanks to Rod of Padrographs for giving me the tip about the private signing.
Be sure to follow Rod if you aren't already following him.

This is my 1st autograph jersey of Cutch.  I chose the Phillies because only Nike jerseys were available for the signing and he obviously never wore a Nike jersey while playing with the Pirates, Giants, or Yankees.

Cutch 22 Pickup

My latest Cutch22 card came in the mail over the weekend and I absolutely LOVE this card.

Between watching multiple seasons of Community, updating my Cutch PC, and ripping open half a box of 2019 X-Files: UFOs and Aliens I have been taking things very easy and lazy.

Despite adding nearly 70 new autographs to my collection and updated on my spreadsheet, I am really enjoying these  Cutch22 cards (cards numbered 22/xx).  With Cutch appearing in less and less products these days I will continue to focus on adding these serial number cards to the collection.

The numbers game

I have been collecting Andrew McCutchen cards for over a decade now.  In that time I have accumulated nearly 2,700 unique cards of Cutch.

As I gained more and more Cutch cards I thought it would be more fun to get serially numbered cards of Cutch to his jersey number.
With the exception of 30 games (25 regular season, 5 postseason) with the Yankees Cutch has always worn number 22 in the major leagues.  I recently acquired a new  Cutch22 (card numbered 22/xx) to my collection.
This autograph ran me only $12 delivered.

It helped spark a new collection for my growing basketball collection.

My favorite active basketball player is Paul George.  A few years ago Paul George changed his jersey number from 24 to 13 so that he could market PG13.

Here are my PG13 cards

This Donruss Press Proof is 13/299
 It is from 2016-17

Pacers cards of PG13 will always be my favorite to collect, but I really like the variety of cards that a small (but growing) basketball collection offers.
This card is the Gold Standard (literally) of the type of Paul George PG13 cards I want.
Any PG13 card that mentions my favorite basketball player of all time (Reggie Miller) on the back is an instant favorite.

Now time for some Thunderous PG13 cards
Look at the design on this card.
This PG13 card is numbered 13/25 and as of now is my only Paul George relic in the PG13 collection.

Optic is a brand we are all familar with thanks to the baseball version, but the basketball version is so much better.
Look at nice Panini makes licensed cards.

How sweep it is...

I love MLB authentication on cards.

This Definitive card features a uniform worn by Cutch July 2nd to July 4th against the Colorado Rockies.

The Giants were swept by the Rockies.

Anyone else love to celebrate the 4th of July early with these pops?

America!

2019 Prizm Player Break Results

I won two cases of Andrew McCutchen 2019 Prizm cards for roughly $3.  While I didn't score a ton of cards, I got more than enough value in the break to satisfy me.

All base cards went to a seperate auction, but I asked the breaker if I could get one base card from the break.  After verifying with the winner of all base cards, he agreed to send me one base card.

Below are the results
The big hit is the blue wave on the left. It's numbered to only 60 copies (more on that later).  I also got a base (pictured in middle) along with a red parallel (not numbered).

The main huge hit was the wave card due to it's low numbering.  But when I flipped it over to view the numbering, I was even more happy.

That my friends, is another Cutch22 for the collection.

I wasn't sure if I was going to chase the other parallels from this set since there is 27 (!!!!!!) to chase, but after getting it in my hand I can surely say I will go for it.

The following are the parallels I want to knock off my list with hopefully some help from you guys:
Red/White/Blue
Pink (retail only I believe)
Zebra /99
Lime Green Donuts /199
Orange Circle Donuts /150
Red Mojo /299
Blue Mojo /399
Burgundy Shimmer /25
Cosmic Haze
Carolina Blue

Looking at all those crazy parallel names, I really hope they make a Bacon Maple next year.  I would love a shiny brownish orange card.  Ooooh imagine if it's a scratch a sniff?  (I'm very hungry)

Chicken Little

Forget about the Urban Dictionary. I'm going to use chicken talk to describe how much I paid for this Cutch22 card.
Yup, for the low price of a single George Washington I grabbed another Cutch card numbered 22/xx.

Can't beat that with a baseball bat...

March Madness?

March Madness is just around the corner.  Duke looks to be the front running favorite, but there are sure to be upsets abound.

My bracket has North Carolina winning it all.

Donruss Optic (the chrome version of Donruss) has been using a parallel called Carolina Blue in their sets over the past few years.

I had to grab the jersey numbered 22/50 from last year's release.

Back In Time?

How did Andrew McCutchen, a player born in 1986 end up on a baseball card resembling a 1978 design wearing a Giants uniform he wore in 2018?

Is there some kind of Flex Compacitor funny play going on?
A Delorian was seen cruising McCovey Cove

I have had this Cutch 22 card (a serially numbered card to Cutch's jersey number) sitting around unscanned for half a year.  It is from an online exclusive set Topps produced mid summer 2018.

Topps used their On Demand (similar to Topps Now) to produce a set of cards.  Details for the set can be found here.  It was at the height of Sho-Time when everyone wanted a Shohei Otani autograph and base cards were all selling for double digit figures.

The set included 30 base cards (guaranteed complete base set), 2 parallel cards, and 3 inserts.  Of the inserts were
Famous Flashback (set that features retired players accomplishments)

4 x player rookie card (4 rookies at each position) designed in the same model as the famous Trammel, Molitor rookie cards of same year

Then and Now (a player of 1978 with a current rookie player) in the same design from the 1978 Then and Now subset.

In addition 1 in every 2 packs would feature a sticker autograph.

With a print run of 2,040 sets produced there was a lot of neat parallels to chase down.

Cutch only appeared for the red /10 autograph set which I will show off in a future post.

If you are a fan of the 1978 design or last year's stacked rookie class you might want to see if you can find some cards from this limited release.

Another 22/XX to the collection

I have been looking to add a few more 22/xx cards to my collection, but only if I don't already have the card.

I won't pay premiums for jersey number cards.

This is my latest Cutch22 to the collection.

It's a 2018 Optic Red numbered to only 99 copies.

Deep Blue "See 2"

I will be the first to admit I have a strange fascination with sharks.  Every year I get super excited for watching shark week on Discovery Channel.  Shortly after shark week is over, the SyFy channel runs a week of animal creature feature movies.  This week has been all about the sharks as the channel is nearing the debut of Sharknado 6: It's About Time.

The Sharknado movies are so ridiculous you either can't watch them and view them as stupid OR you can't not watch them.  I fall in the second category.  The movies are so bad I have to watch them.

Other movies shown this week include Trailer Park Shark, Santa Jaws, Toxic Shark, and so many more.

Today will feature Six Headed Shark Attack.  I am sure it will be award worthy viewing.

Last night though I was glued to the TV watching Deep Blue Sea 2.
The original Deep Blue Sea featured a bunch of well known actors like Thomas Jane, Samuel L Jackson, Michael Rappaport, and the great LL Cool J.

This movie didn't feature the same star cast.

Part of the reason I was attracted to the movie is because of Danielle Savre.

Ok, that was the main reason

besides wanting to see if any sharks would be biting the heads off people.

SHARK MOVIES ARE GREAT!!!!

What is your favorite shark movie?

I was looking at my collection FINALLY begining to scan in all the cards from 2005 when I realized that one of Cutch's most prized 1st year cards I have uniquely numbered 22/150.

I should really try and figure out how many Cutch cards I have numbered 22/xx

The blue refractor ties in very nicely with the Deep Blue 2 theme

With October just a little over 40 days away I have begun putting together a bunch of cards not shown last year along with a few beautiful women to help highlight them.  I could have saved Ms. Savre for that feature, but hey it's the summer and SHARKS!!!!

Similar to last year I am also putting together a great contest this year.  Stay tuned as we near September for all the details.

Woah....that's trippy

Ever come across a parallel that is so different looking you just have to get it?

I have said before that despite the lack of logos Prizm has THE BEST color parallels on the market.  Yes, they are better than Bowman Chrome and Topps Chrome.

Need proof?

Check out this trippy tie dye parallel from 2015 Prizm.

Best of all it can go in the Cutch22 section of my collection as it is numbered 22/50

This card makes me want to listen to some Jimi Hendrix.
What are your favorite Jimi songs?

Cutch22 Museum

There may never be a Cutch 22 Museum in the sense that there is a Roberto Clemente, Joe Jackson, or Ty Cobb museum, but that won't stop me from trying to build one.

Not in the literal sense of course.

I am talking in terms of cardboard.

I am so behind with scanning cards that these two cards span the course of 6 months of pickups.

Both are Topps Museum parallels numbered 22/xx

Up first the 2012 Primary Pieces quad relic with a small piece of patch worn on a road jersey.  I also have the red parallel numbered to 75, but that one isn't serially numbered 22.

Next up is the 2013 Museum base card Asia exclusive distribution Turquoise parallel numbered 22/50.
The Asia exclusive parallels are a pain in the neck to try and track down for obvious reasons despite not demanding a lot of money.  I know that Bowman, Museum, and Strata all have Asia exclusvive parallels.

Another Cutch22 for the PC

Much like Gavin enjoys his Christmas cards (12/25) I actually enjoy those 22/xx cards of Andrew McCutchen.

This is a card I picked up a few months ago.

Nothing too special, just your average plain grey swatch.

Oh and the back talks about Spider-Man.

By the way.....

How sweet was the Avengers movie?
NO SPOILERS IN COMMENTS SECTION FOR THOSE HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET PLEASE!!!!

Daniel Delivers Cutch22

Daniel from the blog, Its Like Having My Own Card Shop, hooked me up with a great new addition to my Cutch 22 collection.

With the addition of this card, I was also able to add another piece of Daniel's perfect penmanship to my collection.

Young athletes should take note of this dude's handwriting.

Fantastic Sir!!!  Thanks for contributing to the collection.
