This Day In Cutchstory, Cutch's Only 2019 Triple

Something I have been obsessing over is the research of matching an image used for a Topps product to an actual at bat.

The 2019 Heritage High Numbers action variant is from a game played April 14, 2019 where the Phillies beat the Marlins in a 3-1 contest in 14 innings.

Highlights of the game can be seen in the video below.  Head to 3:50 mark to see the (slightly foul) absolute bomb that Cutch hit off Wei-Yin Chen.

You can see the image used for the card directly from the Getty Images screenshot above, but the near homerun shot would have been a cooler "action shot" mainly for the fan jumping up precelebrating.
Despite just missing the go ahead homer, in typical Cutch form he put everything he had in to the next pitch to leg out a triple to give his team a chance to take the lead.  Fortunately Jean Segura hit a homer that put the Phillies up 3-1 and improved their record to 9-5 on the very young season.

Which of the three images below do you think would have been better for an action variant?

Do you ever research the images on Topps cards?

MunnDay, MunnDay, So Good To Me....

Please remember that all month long for October I am running multiple contests for some great prizes.

In addition I will be making a donation based on the number of comments left by my readers.  Comments made by myself are excluded.  So far we have raised only $20 after almost a week.  My goal is to get to $150 so we can have enough money for at least one woman to get a free mammogram.

Remember that 1 in 8 women will be,detected with breast cancer in their lifetime.  Think about 8 family members or coworkers or friends and picture one of them contacting this terrible disease.  We CAN make a difference.

Donate today!

I have most of the month mapped out with the cards I will be using this year.  Feel free to offer suggestions for who you may want to include.  Be aware though that if the person is just an Instagram THOT (look it up if you don't know what that means) I likely will not include them.

Let's look at who is getting the spotlight on the first Monday of October.
Olivia Munn
She is one of my favorite cohosts of all time because of her ridiculously rooted comedic personality and well....yeah she's pretty good looking too.

She has dated Aaron Rodgers (who roasted the Cowboys yesterday)

Before becoming an action star and actress Munn appeared on Attack of the Show, the same program as yesterday's subject Carrie Keagan.
Her personality and tirades were so over the top
Comedy gold!!!
Because of that similarity I will again show off "The Show" back like yesterday, but Munn isn't just a talk show host.  She is also an action star.

So she gets the action variant to highlight some of her movie credits
Like Psylocke from the X-Men franchise.
Or Casey from The Predator

But she also appeared in Office Christmas Party which is HILARIOUS!!!

The Lesser Of Rares

I love Topps Heritage.
It combines the current stars of today on designs of yesterday.  Of course there are parallels to chase too.

2013 Heritage had black back Venezuelan variants.  I already had the action variant for the black back which I showed off here.

I finally got the action variant with the standard back.  It goes with the action variant black back and base version with base back.
Action Variants have the 003284 code on back.
The base back has a code 003281.

A Variant of the Second Kind

Topps Heritage is my favorite release year in and year out.  It offers the vintage designs with today's stars.

Recently Topps has been producing Action Variants where the player is featured in game day action instead of a staged photograph.

Cutch has had an action variant every year starting in 2013.  I've had that for awhile.

The Black Back Venezulan variants are very tough to come by.

I can cross that off the list though.
