The Bryce Was Wrong, but Now It's Soto Good!

In case you haven't already heard, the Washington Nationals beat the Houston Astros by winning 4 games in Houston.  The team showed an unbelievable amount of resistance and a strong clubhouse.

The Baby Shark team won their first World Series title AFTER their former face of franchise left the team.

I was rooting for the Astros to win, but know of a lot of people rooting for the Nationals because Bryce Harper has become such a strange baseball villain that fans wanted the team to win just to have a chuckle at seeing the team celebrate while Bryce's $300+ million dollar contract butt not even make the playoffs.

It's not Bryce's fault the Phillies didn't make the playoffs this year, but Bryce's 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2017 Postseason numbers weren't that impressive.  In total he batted .211 with a 31%K rate in 76 at bats during those NLDS games.

I don't have many cards of current Nationals with Cutch.  In fact I only have one.  Its a sexta autograph booklet with signatures of Cutch, Josh Bell, Javy Baez, Starlin Castro and the Nationals teammates: Anthony Rendon and Ryan Zimmerman.

The booklet is numbered to only 10 copies.

I do have a lot of Cutch pairings with the former Nationals Superstar, Bryce Harper.

Congrats Boston Red Sox!

With the SaveSecondBase event I was running all month I completely forgot to congratulate the Boston Red Sox on winning the World Series.

Yesterday I watched some of the parade before going to a matinee showing of the new Halloween movie.

I really didn't care who won the World Series.  I was hoping the Rockies would advance further, but once they were eliminated I had two American League teams I would quietly root for thanks to the former Pirates in the organization.  Had Houston advanced I would no doubt be cheering them on for Gerrit Cole and Charlie Morton.  Alex Bregman is quickly becoming one of my favorite players to,watch also.  For Boston it was all about cheering on Steve Pearce who was just an,absolute class act baseball player while with the Pirates through the minors and his brief stint in the majors.

I can't say enough good things about Steve Pearce.

And neither can Cutch who got a lot of heat from Yankees fans for cheering on his former teammate.

Cutch put the haters comments aside with the above Twitter post though.

I don't have a lot of cards featuring Cutch with current members of the Boston Red Sox.  The only cards I have feature Cutch on Just Minors sticker autographs with Pearce and Price.

These two dual autos of Cutch with the 2018 World Series MVP are numbered to 10 and 25 copies.

I also have a triple autograph with David Price and Jason Hayward.  It is also numbered to only 10 copies.

All My Cutch Cards Featuring the Astros

I didn't have a chance to show these off during October because of the Save The Boobies event I was running (all pink cards while showing off some nice looking chests).w

Because the Astros are no longer a division rival and have been inclining while the Pirates have been declining there haven't been many cards of Cutch with members of the Astros.

That's not to say there aren't any though.

Here are a few of the ones I have.

Up first is my oldest card of Cutch with a member of the current Astros team and the cover athlete to Sports Illustrated bold prediction, George Springer.

Next up is the unsigned insert card.

Now for the (expected) AL MVP, Jose Altuve.
I have two different parallels to this quad relic.

Topps Heritage has been producing ad panels as box toppers in recent years.  The 2016 Pitt Power card is paired with Astros bullpen arm Collin McHugh.

Come with me on the way back machine as I take a look at my Cutch cards with Hunter Pence.  Pence was a long time member of the Astros before being traded to the Phillies in 2011.  The trade package included Jon Singleton, Jarred Cosart, Domingo Santana, and Josh Zeid.  While none of those players contributed to the 2017 Astros in a positive way, Cosart being traded to Miami for Jake Marisnick, Colin Moran, and Francis Martes who all played for the Astros in 2017.

Also pictured on this printing plate is former Astros Colby Rasmus.  Rasmus set a MLB record by recording an extra base hit in his first 6 career postseason games.  He was on the verge of a breakout campaign and likely could have been an All-Star for the Rays in 2017 before deciding he needed to take a step away from major league baseball.
