A Top 10 List: Gamers

I have been laying out a few maps and plans on where I want my collection to go and how I want it to grow in the next few year's regarding my Andrew McCutchen collection.
You can see the other 2 categories of items I want to add to my collection by clicking on the below links

(I actually got a custom piece of artwork for the wall paying homage of Cutch's career thus far to an old issue of Amazing Spider-Man)

I will use these maps and goals to help stay focused and to stay away from the
Gotta Catch Em All Pokemon mentality

The collection has grown to epic proportions in the past decade and I am extremely proud of what I have accumulated.

While I have so many unique cards (over 3,000) and items (lineup card from 1st HR, actual dreadlock cut for charity) there is one thing I am greatly missing in my collection.

A Game Used Jersey

Sure, I have a bunch of my jerseys and I even own a Nike Phillies jersey that Cutch personalized and signed for me, but I don't own a jersey that he wore in a game.

But I want a jersey

I had an opportunity last year to get a Yankees pinstripe jersey, but passed on it because I instead opted to get a few more high end cards.  Looking back I wish I had the taken that plunge and grabbed the Yankees jersey as there aren't that many and it is such an iconic uniform.

If I had to rank them by team order, here is the list
1-Pirates
2-Any Event Game Used (Team USA World Baseball Classic, All-Star Game, etc)
3-Yankees
4-Giants
5-Phillies

What items are on your hobby wish list?
Do you own any game used items?

A Top 10 List Part 2: Rookie Year cards

I promised that every 10th day or so, I would reveal one of ten categories I want to add to my Cutch collection.  These 10 posts will become a map for where I want my collection to go and help keep the collection focused.
Over the years I have had a Pokemon "gotta catch em all" type mentality when it came to my Andrew McCutchen collection.
With the current baseball card market and Cutch not playing for my favorite team anymore, I am now looking towards the past to focus on the future of the collection.
Today, I am going to have this post focus on the "rookie year" Cutch.

He made his MLB debut in 2009.

I showed off a 2009 Upper Deck SP Authentic silver foil card limited to only 59 copies recently and it is one of my favorite pickups of the year.  I love that it is a rare rookie card of my favorite athlete and would love to grab some more rare rookie cards of Cutch.
The majority of Cutch rookie debut cards I need are mostly limited to serial number cards /50 or less with the majority being 1/1s.

Something about having those rare rookie year cards brings great joy to my collection.
Like the above 2009 Bowman Chrome Superfractor or the Orange /25
or the Logoman from the 2008 Futures Game Jersey found on the below 2009 Topps Unique 1/1
Here is a list of cards I need

2009 Bowman Chrome #178
/50 Gold
/5 Red
1/1 Printing Plates: Cyan, Magenta, Black, Yellow

2009 Bowman Sterling #BS-AM
1/1 Printing Plates: Cyan, Magenta, Black
Need the base, have all color parallels

2009 Topps T206 Mini #10

2009 Topps Update

Target Throwback Logo and back

2009 Topps Unique #196
1/1 unique

2009 Topps Unique Uniform #UU04

2009 Topps Chrome #213

2009 Tristar Projections #74

So there's a list of my 2009 McCutchen needs
Cutch was such a breath of fresh air for a team that was on the verge of two decades of losing records

A Top 10 List pt1

As I continue to spend time with the in laws for a few months while preparing for our new place to call home, I thought it would be fun to show off some Top 10 items I want to add to my Cutch cave once it's complete.  I am going to break this up into 10 parts, highlighting one item every 10 days or so.

Up first, I want to add some nice art or photos for the walls.  I already have something big lined up and it should be completed in two weeks or less.  It is going to be AMAZING!!!!  Once it's complete, I'll be sure to show it off.

I have already shown off some 16x20 photos I got done at a private signing last year and they will be going on the walls once framed and the new place is ready to settle into.
I hope that one day the world will get back to normal and I can attend a live event where I can get JT Realmuto to sign this photo also.
All of the above 16x20s will look great once framed and hanging on the walls.

What I really really want though is to add unique items to the walls.  I am looking for old pennants, banners, posters, fat heads, and especially marketing items.  I have a Nike sign that features Cutch and would love to add some other items from Nike, Marucci, Mizuno, Lids, Pepsi, or any other items that Cutch has helped to endorse or market.

My ultimate wish list item is a 2013 MLB The Show video game display.
So item #1 for my Cutch wish list is something big to hang on the walls...

Join me sometime in the next 10 days for what item #2 is on the wish list
