New Year, New Me and the countless number of cheesy sayings

Welcome to 2019!

Hopefully everyone is alive and safe after celebrating the new year last night.

I haven't celebrated the New Year for a few years.  It all seems kind of silly to me.

Why should we celebrate the clock striking midnight any different on that evening?  There are so many cliche things that happen with the New Year.

First is the recap of the ending year, the day before.  I admit am guilty of this, but I wanted a post and didnt have time to scan in new cards.

Then there is the days leading up to the New Year when you hear coworkers say "see you next year".  Haha Haha! Really funny.  Yes, I will see you on Wednesday.  Don't be that person that says "see you next year" on New Year's Eve. It's Lame!

Then there is the number of countless social media posts with the saying "New Year, New Me" or something of that nature.

I am all for people changing and bettering themselves, but come February it is all but forgotten.

Now if you don't mind I am going to take my grumpy butt and go back to watching the Twilight Zone marathon.

Happy 2019 everyone!

  1. I love the TZ marathon, it's what I was watching during Y2K and I try to catch at least one episode every NYE. The ball drop/Times Square thing is overrated to me. I'm not a fan of Seacrest, Fergie, or Pitbull. But I do try to make resolutions - which I think of as priorities, plans, reassessments.. something not so cliche. They almost always fail though.
