Winter Storm Harper's forecast

In case you didn't hear Winter Storm Harper is coming through the United States this weekend.

And I'm not even talking about Bryce Harper potentially signing a monster size contract either.

No, I am talking about an actual Winter Storm consisting of snow, sleet, and flash freezing.  For those that will be dealing with it, be careful on the roads.

Here are 2 of my latest pickups.

The Chris Archer metallic snowflake parallel was given to me by my girlfriend on Christmas.  Awesome, right?

And then I got the base holiday card of Cutch.  I still need the metallic snowflake parallel.

  1. The naming of winter storms is really (really) stupid, and terribly annoying! Having never seen one in person, are the metallic snowflake cards considerably brighter than the base? If so, it's hard to tell via picture, because the scans make them look exactly the same.

    1. The snowflake cards aren't much brighter, they're just three-dimensional, slightly. There are actual raised bits instead of (or on top of) the printed "flakes". Basically it looks like an arts and crafts project from a rainy day at summer camp.

    2. This is the best description I have heard.

  2. SNOW-PACALYPSE!!!!

I am with Jon. The over hyping of storms is getting out of hand. We all know what to do - drive carefully, don't go out unless vitally important, be careful when clearing the snow, etc. If you don't know how to manage when a few flakes fall, maybe move closer to the equator.

    1. This will be our first snowfall of the year in Boston area. I will get to witness everyone forget how to drive.

  3. Man... haven't dealt with a snow storm since a snowboarding trip back in the late 2000's. Not being used to driving in those conditions, we were pretty scared and what normally was a 4 hour drive took over 12 hours. Very scary. I hope everyone affected by Harper stays warm and inside.

  4. Oooh metallic snowflake? Sounds cool. And maybe some sort of new political term?

  5. Agree with the naming of winter storms being stupid. That said, we are supposed to get up to 17 inches and that's 17 inches too many for me to shovel. Grr.
