A Pair of Uncirculated 1/1s Leads To A Question

I am having a bit of writer's block so I decided I would go through some autographs sitting in a box that were never scanned in.

I remember desperately trying to get to 100 unique autographs of Cutch back in 2015.
I now have almost three times that total.

There are two boxes of cards with certified autographs that haven't been scanned yet.  Among them are the two 1/1s pictured above.  I acquired these from a seller who has a LARGE inventory of Just Minors products.

If there is one thing I really want to focus on with my collection this year is getting the collection updated in my Google spreadsheet document.

With a staycation planned in a couple weeks, I think it is possible to tackle getting the collection fully updated by March.  Getting everything scanned in? That likely won't happen.

How do you find time to scan and update?  Do you have a specific day or time you do it?  Do you catalog everything upon receipt of the new cards for your collection?  Any websites or tools you use to assist with it?

  1. I don't have a scanner, but I'd like to get one. Im slowly trying TCDB, but I'm not on a certain schedule.

Good looking cards of Cutch, and that's an amazing amount of autographed cards for one player.

    Good Job!

  2. I have a spreadsheet and I use TCDB. I log them as I get them but the only reason that is possible is because I had a month off due to Covid and I pretty much logged everything in that month and got caught up and I'm talking 6 to 8 hours a day for the whole month. As far as the scanning, I usually take a day on the weekend and scan but I don't have single scans of every card. Although I am thinking about tackling that for a future project, Lord help me I'm thinking about it.

    Good luck!

  3. I update cards on days off. When I receive cards, I set them aside until I'm off. Then on that day I'll catalog them and put them in the box where they'll live or in the stack where they'll eventually go in the binder where they'll live. I find if I catalog new cards right away like that, it keeps them from adding up.

  4. Saturdays... and sometimes Sundays are my biggest scan days. Usually I'm too tired after work to do anything card related outside of read blogs. As for cataloging... that word isn't part of my routine (yet).

  5. I don't have a ton of time to sit and do card things. Even if I do, I feel a but guilty sitting on my computer logging cards while the kids sit in front of the TV or something. Makes me feel guilty. As of now, I update my Tino list on my blog, as well as on TCDB.
