Each year during the month of October, I show off only pink (and shades of pink like magenta, peach, etc) to help raise awareness of Breast Cancer, a leading cause of death for females in the United States.
Due to my own financial situation this year I will not be able to make a donation for each (meaningful, non spam) comment left by those that follow the blog. Once things settle down on the home front though I will be looking to make a donation in 2022 based on the comments left during this year's event. Hopefully together we can help at least one woman get a much needed mammogram. Early detection is key!!!
If you want to make your own private donation please visit the National Breast Cancer Foundation. There is a donate button on the main page and it only takes a minute of your time. Every little bit helps.
I have focused primarily on cards that only feature Andrew McCutchen on the card, but in recent years have also featured cards with a cameo appearance (either being seen on the card or as a name cameo on the back of the card). In 2019, I created Falco Files which discussed players that replaced (Shane Falco Replacements movie reference) on an active roster, number worn, or trade. I will also be showing some Cutch's Crew cards that show pink cards of players that have played with Cutch on multiple teams. I will continue to utilize these styles of posts as we celebrate the 5th Collecting Cutch Save Second Base event (I am no longer counting my first run on the Pirates Treasure Room I did back in 2014).
I am always looking for new ways to incorporate new celebrities into the event so today I am presenting
Jennifer Swift
Jennifer Swift, no relation to Taylor, is someone I had intended on showing off back in 2019, but never got around to it.You can follow her on Instagram here.
Limp Bizkit was one of my favorite bands in the late 90s, early 2000s.
I can't confirm who the girl from the Limp Bizkit video, Break Stuff, is but she was a favorite of mine growing up.
I remember waiting for MTV's TRL (Total Request Live) to show off Break Stuff so I could record the video on my VCR and rewatch it over and over on my VHS tapes. Break Stuff was such an iconic song for someone coming out of their angst teens. Ah, the good ol days.
If stuff is broken don't be afraid to call Geico. The Geico sign is featured on this DJ LeMahieu 2019 Update Pink card.
DJ took over the #26 jersey when he signed a multi year deal with the New York Yankees prior to the 2019 season. The number was previously worn by Andrew McCutchen for his month long stay in Bronx pinstripes.
As you can see from the past 30 years, the number hasn't exactly had legendary status for Yankees players.
Fred Durst, lead singer of the band Limp Bizkit, is a Yankees fan and would often wear a red Yankees cap on stage and in the band's music videos.
I bet all Yankees fans were hoping for a different result Tuesday as without DJ LeMahieu the Yankees offense couldn't do much outside of Rizzo, Judge, Stanton. DJ has a way of extending a lineup in addition to playing really good defense.
Were you a fan of Limp Bizkit?

If so what are some of your favorite songs?
Limp Bizkit is still around? Is Ms. Swift in her 40s now?
ReplyDeleteIt still annoys me that Cutch didn't wear 22 because the ghost of Ellsbury still technically had it.
ReplyDeleteOoof, no, not a fan. Probably why I don't know who Jennifer Swift is.
ReplyDeleteLimp Bizkit never interested me much. Had no idea they were still around...though it does seem that most 90s acts are still out there "trying" to be relevant today.
ReplyDeleteAll my knowledge of Limp Bizkit is that they're from JAX, Fla., and I lived there when the became famous.
ReplyDeleteAs for being famous, and from JAX, they'll never surpass Lynrd Skynyrd.
I'll have to look up Miss Swift.
Good Job. 👍
Wouldn't call myself a huge Limp Bizkit fan, but I did (not sure if I still do) own a couple of their cd's from the early 2000's. Like most of the music from that era, my students listened to it, so I did too. Don't really have a favorite song, but Rollin' is the first song that pops into my mind.
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of his music, then or now.
ReplyDeleteNot a fan, but admittedly I find myself singing along when I hear "I did it all for the nookie..."
ReplyDeleteNever was a fan of theirs. But just wow to Ms. Swift...
ReplyDeleteYikes, looks like Mr. CC is on his own with the Limp Bizkit fandom!
