The New High Five?

The world today is radically different than it was a few months ago due to COVID-19.

I'm curious if the social distancing will continue after things settle down and life begins to get back to normal with businesses opening back up.

If so, will we ever see forearm bashes again?

High Fives again?

Today is National High Five Day and I miss the social interactions.

  1. Is that 2011 card the 1/1 with an actual diamond embedded in it? I can't imagine how much a card like that would cost.

I've set aside the 2017 card for you, even though I'm sure you have multiple copies. Please feel free to claim more cards from me so it has some company in the PWE :)

    1. I actually dont have the base. The card pictured is the throwback vintage logo /99.

The 2011 does have the actual diamond in it. It wasn't cheap, but cost a lot less than I thought it would have.

  2. Maybe it's me, but I don't think high-fives and forearm bashes are going to go completely away in baseball, although I'm sure it'll be somewhat muted at first. With all the time these guys spend together, I don't think there's a worry of something spreading on the field. My fear is that players will be less inclined to interact with fans.

  3. I didn't know you had one of the diamond cards. Cool!

  4. No forearm bashing or high fives? Don't even want to think of living in a world where baseball players can't do that ever again. If that's the case... sports like soccer and basketball where players are constantly in contact with opponents are going to be a thing of the past.

  5. This is not a joke, I swear, Do you know that Dusty Baker more or less invented the high five? Seriously, Google it. Kind of wild!
