Cards Without Rhymes

Prior to the Coronavirus outbreak I picked up a pair of 2014 needs for a very cheap price.

Coincidentally they feature color parallels that are difficult to get true rhymes with.
The 2014 Opening Day purple was an exclusive to Toys R Us packs.

The 2014 Topps Orange is a factory set exclusive.  These are very rare because most factory sets remain sealed and those that are opened only contain 5 cards of the 660 card set to be the orange exclusives.
McCutchen along with Kershhaw, Cabrera, Trout appeared on the cover of the box set for the 2014 Factory Set.  I still want to get one of those for my collection.  Sealed factory sets are ranging in the $100+ market.

  1. That's expensive ($100)! Why so? Any McCutchen card with that hair is a thing of beauty!

    1. I'm not sure. I know Devers has a RC in it, but that cant be the selling point. I know the 5 card packs of orange exclusive sell for big money and often times those 5 cards can cover the cost of the rest of set (if the set gets cracked open).

  2. The colored Topps parallels have really held up since 2011 or so.

    1. I really miss the true borders Topps had 2010-2014.

  3. Wowza. $100 for a factory set of 2014 Topps? That's insane. I struggled to pull the trigger on my 2019 Topps set and it was only $31. Anyways... congratulations on crossing these two parallels off of your list. I could see where it'd be really hard to find that orange parallel if you're a player collector.
