Too much swag!

A few people have already tagged me on Twitter regarding the 2020 Topps Series 2 photo variant Short Print of Andrew McCutchen.  A few coworkers who are also into cards text messaged me about the card too.

If you haven't already seen it I advise you to put on some shades because this card will blind you with it's swag.

The card community has gone absolutely nuts over this card and prices have varied from $12 to $100.

Many current auctions are in the $70+ range with days left.

The announcement that the season is moving forward and an extremely unique photo variant on a brand new release are definitely driving the price on this card.

I'm going to sit this one out for now though.  I'll let the prices drop back to the $10-$20 range which is where this card's value should be.

ESPN thinks it's a pretty cool card and I agree, but I can't pay those wild prices.

  1. Good call on waiting it out. It will soon be yours, I’m sure.

  2. I mentioned you when I showed that card in my blog post last night. I would've figured you would have had 15 of them by now. Did you see Dick Allen's Twitter site called it the coolest card ever?

  3. I think it's really cool when a card ends up making it on ESPN or their social media. Our hobby could use good, quality advertising.

    1. Not at the expense of making a $10 card into a $300 card tho

    2. They rarely hold the $300 value though. If it's on ESPN, it's hyped up. People living in the "now" need it and drive up the prices. Eventually the hype subsides, demand drops, and reduced price tags follow.
